Welcome to my Personal Homepage. I am a fifth year PhD student in the Applied Economics and Management Department at Cornell University. My current fields of research are development economics, applied microeconomic theory and applied econometrics. My geographical focus is South-Asia in general, and India in particular.

For my thesis, I am trying to understand the role of identity, social learning, imitation and social norms in economic decision making. For the empirical part of my thesis I am focusing on i) educational investment in children and ii) Bt cotton technology adoption. From August 2007 until June 2008 I have been travelling through the Indian states of Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra to collect data. At the moment, I am in the process of validating the data once more.

The pictures on the left are taken at my previous home in Patancheru, Andhra Pradesh, on my way to a South Indian classical music concert. For more information on my research, visit my research page
