Welcome to my homepage. I am a PhD candidate in Applied Economics and Management at Cornell University (Expected date of graduation: May 2010). I study the economics of households and firms in developing countries using survey methods, field experiments and economic theory. Most of my work to date has been in Asia.

For my dissertation research, I am trying to build a better understanding of the role of identity, social learning, imitation and social pressures in economic decision making. For the empirical part of my dissertation I focus on i) educational investment in children and ii) Bacillus thurigiensis (Bt) cotton technology adoption in India. I conducted fieldwork in India from August 2007 until November 2008.  At the moment, I am in the process of analyzing the Bt cotton data and producing the first results.
